Dan Perry is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) and is the founder and principal consultant of GeoSymMetrics, LLC, a Utah-based firm specializing in geospatial consulting, training, and technology solutions. With over three decades of experience in surveying, mapping, and civil design, Dan has built GeoSymMetrics into a trusted resource for professionals seeking smarter, more efficient workflows.

Since its founding in 2006, GeoSymMetrics has become a Premier Carlson Centric Dealer, offering advanced instrumentation, software, and support tailored to the needs of surveyors, civil engineers, and GIS specialists. Dan leads the company’s efforts to integrate cutting-edge tools—including drone-based data capture and field-to-office automation—into practical, cost-effective solutions for clients across the Intermountain West.

In addition to his consulting work, Dan serves as a professor of Surveying and Mapping at Utah Valley University, where he combines academic insight with real-world expertise. His dual role as educator and practitioner allows him to stay ahead of industry trends while mentoring the next generation of geospatial professionals.

Dan is also an active member of the Utah Council of Land Surveyors (UCLS) and regularly contributes to professional development through workshops, conferences, and technical training events.
